Insurance and Finance FAQ
What is the difference between Medical and Vision Insurance?
Medical Insurance such as Medicare, BCBS, MVP, etc. will cover any issues regarding any medical issue with your eyes like dry eye, pink eye, and cataracts.
Vision Insurance will cover a yearly or bi-yearly 'Routine Eye Exam'. A Routine Eye Exam consist of the Doctor checking your vision and WILL NOT COVER any procedure or test dealing with the health of the eye. Vision Insurance may cover materials such as Contacts, Glasses, and Lenses. Vision Insurance may also discount your Contact Lens Evaluation.
You may use your Medical Insurance for your routine eye exam but you may be charged a Refraction charge of $45.
